Welcome back to my blog! Today marks the completion of my first two months at VIT Chennai—and what a transformative journey it has been. These months have already changed my life for the better, and I’d love to share how I got here.
Like many Indian students aspiring to pursue engineering, I started coaching classes as early as 8th grade, placing everything on hold for the IIT dream. But by 12th grade, I was facing severe burnout and had lost all interest in the process. After my first JEE attempt, with disappointing results, I was convinced I’d end up without a direction.
That’s when things shifted. One evening, my father sat me down and reminded me that I still had time to restart with a clean slate. On the same day, I happened to watch Legally Blonde, where Elle Woods’ determination sparked something within me. Inspired, I began solving past year papers daily, working tirelessly on weak areas while polishing my strengths. Within two months, my percentile jumped from 78 to 92: a clear reminder of what persistence can achieve.
Though 92 wasn’t extraordinary, I didn’t stop. I went on to secure a 98.6 percentile in MHTCET and a rank of 4729 in VITEEE. I also cleared the written exam for IPMAT, which opened a chance at IIM Indore. For weeks, I stayed up late preparing for the interview, giving it everything I had. In the end, I wasn’t selected, but life had other plans.
And those plans led me to VIT Chennai. In just two months, I’ve grown academically, socially, and personally. From exploring new subjects to taking on leadership roles, I feel myself building the foundation for the future I once doubted. I now see setbacks as redirections, and I’m grateful for the journey that brought me here. With optimism and determination, I look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Until next time, let’s keep learning, growing, and cherishing every moment :D
